Supports provided to SSCV Athletes:
Vail Mountain School’s Full-Time Athlete Program Manager works in conjunction with Student Support Services to provide support to all Full-Time snow sports athletes. The Program Manager coordinates after school tutoring, skier transportation to and from the hill, is the liaison for students in Ski & Snowboard Club Vail, and is responsible for advocating for full-time winter student-athletes at Vail Mountain School.
This person also provides additional support for students and faculty in the areas of testing, accommodation plans and differential instruction as a member of the Student Support Services team.
Families of Middle and Upper School student-athletes who miss class for training two or more mornings/afternoons per week may utilize in person tutoring, online tutoring, or a combination of both in order to supplement missed class time. Starting in the 4th grade, Lower School student-athletes who miss up to two half days of school participate in one afternoon per week of catching up/tutoring with VMS teachers.
Admissions Process:
The Vail Mountain School admission process is an exciting journey to be traveled by the school and family. It is designed to build a partnership that allows both the parents and the school to collaborate in answering the question, “Are they ready for us, and are we ready for them?”

RSES has developed a cooperative program with SSCV that allows SSCV full time athletes in grades 3- 5 to be excused from class in order to attend training on Wednesday and Friday afternoons (plus every other Tuesday for Alpine U12 athletes).
On the days that they miss class, student-athletes in the cooperative program attend a 1 hour study hall at the SSCV Clubhouse after training. During study hall, student-athletes complete targeted work that has been provided by their classroom teacher.
