At SSCV, everything we do is guided by our core values of Character, Courage, and Commitment. These principles shape how athletes train, compete, and support one another both on and off the mountain. We believe sport is a powerful platform for developing not only strong competitors, but strong people—teaching athletes to approach challenges with integrity, embrace growth through hard work, and remain dedicated to their teammates, their goals, and their community.

AthleteExperience

What It Means To Be An SSCV Athlete
Being an athlete at Ski & Snowboard Club Vail means committing to more than just training and competition—it means embracing a standard of character, accountability, and growth. SSCV athletes are expected to show up prepared, work hard, and support their teammates while representing the club with integrity on and off the mountain.
Guided by our core values of Character, Courage, and Commitment, athletes learn to push through challenges, take ownership of their development, and contribute to a positive team environment. Whether they are just starting out or competing at a high level, SSCV athletes are part of a culture that values effort, respect, and a long-term approach to success.

Part-Time Programs
Ski & Snowboard Club Vail offers an array of part-time programs for athletes at a variety of levels. Part-time programs take place between one and three days per week, mostly on the weekends. These programs are designed to develop skills in aspiring athletes across all snowsport disciplines, as well as cycling, and hopefully prepare them for advancement into a full-time program offering.

Full-Time Programs
For those athletes with the athletic skill and commitment to take their training to a higher level, we offer full-time programming. Our full-time programs provide athletes the opportunity to further strengthen their physical and mental abilities through excellent coaching, increased time on snow, and the support of a competitive peer group.

Athlete Support
Scholarship
We are very proud of our scholarship program. Our team considers the average additional expenses families are facing in order to participate in the sport, i.e., equipment, passes, travel, camps, etc., everything beyond the Club program fees. Scholarship funds come from both individual and corporate donations as well as SSCV coaches and administrators as they believe in providing the opportunity for all kids to experience snow sports. Scholarships are available to support up to 100% of program fees.
Our Academic Partners
SSCV works closely with several academic partners in the Vail Valley to help full-time athletes balance the demands of training and competition with a strong educational experience. Through partnerships with Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy, Vail Mountain School, and Red Sandstone Elementary School, student-athletes are able to pursue their athletic goals while maintaining academic progress. These schools provide flexible scheduling, supportive learning environments, and close coordination with SSCV staff to ensure athletes can succeed both in the classroom and on the mountain.

Coaches
SSCV’s coaching staff is made up of experienced professionals dedicated to developing athletes both on and off the mountain. Our coaches bring backgrounds in high-level competition, athlete development, and sport education, and many hold certifications through organizations such as U.S. Ski & Snowboard and other international governing bodies. More than instructors, SSCV coaches serve as mentors—guiding athletes through technical development, goal setting, and the life lessons that come from sport. Their commitment to excellence and athlete-centered development is a cornerstone of the SSCV experience.

Facilities
SSCV athletes train at a collection of world-class venues throughout the Vail Valley that support year-round development across all disciplines. Primary on-snow training takes place at Golden Peak, one of the premier alpine and freestyle training environments in North America. Additional training resources include the Nordic trails at Maloit Park, the SSCV clubhouse and technical facilities at Golden Peak, and off-snow development spaces such as the Minturn Fitness Center and the training environments at Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy. Together, these facilities provide athletes with the terrain, equipment, and performance resources needed to safely progress and train at a high level throughout the season.
SafeSport
SSCV is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every athlete. Through SafeSport policies and education, the club works to protect athletes from abuse, harassment, and misconduct while promoting a culture built on respect, accountability, and athlete well-being. All SSCV coaches and staff follow SafeSport guidelines and training requirements established by U.S. Center for SafeSport and U.S. Ski & Snowboard, ensuring that athlete safety remains the highest priority across all programs and activities.
