SSCV partners with leading academic institutions to support student-athletes pursuing both academic excellence and high-level training. These partnerships provide the structure, flexibility, and support needed to succeed in the classroom while continuing to grow on the mountain.

Academic Partner

Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy (6–12)

Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy is a public school designed for student-athletes pursuing high-level training alongside a structured academic experience. VSSA allows athletes to balance rigorous academics with competitive skiing and snowboarding.

VSSA offers a flexible academic schedule that supports daily training for SSCV athletes. Key features include:

  • Adjusted class schedules to accommodate training
  • Opportunities for hybrid or online learning when traveling
  • Academic support from faculty and coaches
  • Study hall and structured learning time

This model allows athletes to pursue elite-level competition while staying on track academically.

To apply, complete an interest form through the VSSA application page. Families will receive next steps, including interviews and academic requirements.

  • December: Application opens
  • January–February: Information sessions
  • February: Application deadline
  • March: Admissions decisions released

Academic Partner

Vail Mountain School (K-12)

Vail Mountain School partners with SSCV to support student-athletes pursuing both academic excellence and high-level training. Together, they create an environment where athletes can succeed in the classroom while continuing to grow on the mountain.

VMS provides structured academic support for SSCV full-time athletes through its Full-Time Athlete Program. Support includes:

  • After-school tutoring and academic assistance
  • Transportation to and from training
  • Coordination between SSCV coaches and school staff
  • Academic accommodations and testing support
  • Flexible learning plans for missed class time

This structure allows athletes to stay on track academically while training at a high level.

The VMS admissions process is designed to build a strong partnership between families and the school, ensuring the right fit for both the student and the community.

Red Sandstone Elementary School (PK–5)

Red Sandstone Elementary School supports SSCV’s youngest athletes by providing a strong academic foundation alongside flexible scheduling for early training and development.

Red Sandstone provides flexibility for young athletes balancing school and training, including:

  • Adjusted schedules for training commitments
  • Classroom support for missed time
  • After-school academic assistance
  • Coordination between teachers and SSCV programs

This ensures young athletes can build both academic and athletic foundations.

Enrollment is managed through Eagle County Schools. Families should complete the district enrollment process to secure placement.
